Hello guys.. we are from group 4, Gr.7 St.Agatha Stella Maris International School (SMIS), Gading Serpong,Tangerang.

We would like to show you 1 of the Indonesian History, it was called,"VOC" or "Vereenidge Oost- Indische Compagnie.

THIS IS THE SYMBOL OF V.O.C

V.O.C is one of the trading company from Dutch, Made by The Dutch Government, And the leader were Prince Maurits and Johann Van Olden Barnevelt.

The aim of the company was to combine the effort of the dutch traders, eliminate competition and gain more profits.

Why it was named Vereenidge Oost-Indische Compagnie?

Because in the old days the traders from all over the world often trade to India. It can also be called that India was the center of trading place from all of the world.

The Purpose of V.O.C

-To stop the wasteful competition between Dutch traders.

-To strengthen Dutch position and competition against other Countries.
-to pay the war against the Spain

The Government system of V.O.C

Road Van Indie(India council) ==> Governor General ==> Governor ==> Resident ==> Chosen Local Leader

The Decline of  V.O.C

-There were corruption in V.O.C
-V.O.C need to spend a lot of money in territory expansion.
-V.O.C need to finance the war related cost against rebellion.
-There were other trading companies from Portugal ( Campagnie Des Indies) and England. As new competitors.
-The rise of Liberalism in the world, so the monopoly system of V.O.C were no longer accepted.
